The floods! the Floods!

So we have had a crazy couple of days out here in TN. On Saturday we woke up to the sound of rain, which is not unusual. We quickly got ready and went to Michael's parents house where we were going to help then with a garage sale.....but the rain never stopped, it just got harder. In the middle of cleaning we heard the tornado sirens go off, so we took cover in the house until the alarms passed. But it never stopped raining. We started following the news and found out that this kind of rain would last two days and it is going to get worse. The garage started leaking, and we had to shovel (I say we, I really mean Michael and Pappy, I took pictures :) the water away and buy some sand bags. All the roads were flooded, the rivers overflowed and there was much destruction in Nashville. After all is said and done, we are ok, and so are the majority of people in Spring Hill. But in the surrounding areas, over 15 people are confirmed dead, many missing, and many homes destroyed. They do not know the extent of the damage yet, being that the water has not gone down yet.

But, like Team Oakley is known for, we had some fun. We tried to take every advantage of turn this horrible thing into a good time. We had an interesting experince practicing fitting into the closets for the impending tornado. We also played in the rain and flood with our friend Fenton. It was a really fun time in the midst of such heartbreak and fear. I hope you enjoy the fun photos, and pray for the ones that really tug at your heart. There are many people in need and in pain here.
