This year, on July 3rd, Team Oakley went with Michael's Parents to the local firework stand to stock up on the explosives!
We felt very country pulling into the large lot, and parking on the grass. It was a great way to get the feeling of the day started.
Michael LOVES fireworks! This is one of his favorite times of the year! He was like a kid in a candy store...
There were SO many fireworks to choose from! We walked around for a while before we snagged what we wanted.
While he was basking in the goodness of the explosives, Michael turned to this couple behind him and exclaimed "this is so much fun!!!" They agreed and laughed, and michael had a nice conversation with them about TN, and the south, and where they were from and their kids, and their grandkids... Michael may be the friendliest person in all of Nashville :)
The names of the fireworks cracked us up! We had to share them with all of you!
Michael loved all of the choices! Beka loved watching Michael turn into a five year old :)
We loved spending time with Michael's parents as well. We love Mammy and Pappy!
This was a great finisher to the day...this sign says you have to be over the great age of....16! to buy fire works! WOW! you cannot buy cigarettes until you are 18, liquor until you are 21, but you can buy powerful explosives at 16. Go america, Go :)
And as we leave, as if to bid us a country farewell, we drove by a flag lined church on our way to prepare for the festivities the following day.
Another adventure happens tomorrow when we ignite today's purchases! We will see you then!
