Yet another wonderful TN sunset...

Team Oakley was out shopping the other day, and came across this breathtaking view!
Across the street from one of the main shopping areas in Spring Hill is some property with an old barn, silo, and trees. This is not an uncommon sight in spring hill, but the sunset that day just stole our attention.

As the night went on the colors just got richer, and deeper, and we couldn't help but stop and watch. We were captivated by how pretty it was.

Life goes WAY to fast. Remember to stop and see the beauty that is around us everyday.

When you do that, you can make adventures and memories from normal activities.

Love,
Team Oakley

The Factory's Farmers Market

One thing Team Oakley LOVES about the south is all the fresh produce, farms, and gardens that people have. About a week ago we went to the Farmer's market in Franklin, TN. It is held in the parking lot of an old Factory, which has been converted into a mall. During the summer local growers and farmers come and sell their goodies.
It was such a wonderfully sunny and warm day! It made for a beautiful setting to see all the sights and sounds of this cool experience.

There were farmers with flowers, produce, home goods, meats, and more!

Canning and Jarring is a huge tradition out here!

It was very fun to walk up and down the booths and see the produce, and watch the southern people! There were smells of fresh basil and tomatoes mixed with the Local Bar-be-que stand.

There was a bluegrass band performing too, and when they went into Rocky Top, it made everything come together!

Here are some all natural handmade soaps for sale. They smelled wonderful!

Some of the Farms specialized in certain products, and therefor had many types of one thing to offer.
Here is Michael, Beka, and Pappy (Michael's Dad) in the midst of the fun!
The Hatcher Farm is pretty widely known around here, and this signed cracked us up! They were needing more cows, but they were selling cuts of beef! I guess we know where the cows went to!

Mmmmm, you can't beat some fresh Basil!
Welcome to TN Y'all!!!

We very much enjoyed our time there with Michael's parents, and we will be going back many times in the future!

We encourage everyone to find and buy locally grown produce, meats, and dairy. It is better for you, the economy, Farmers rights, and the environment.
Plus you get to have adventures like ours!

Thanks for sharing it with us!!

San Diego Vaca - day 13: The departure home

Team Oakley has had such a wonderful time these last two weeks in our hometown of San Diego. We got to see family, witness the marriage of Beka's brother, and the engagement of Michael's sister, and many amazing things in between. We were sad to leave this beautiful place, but it made us feel better that we were going to another place we love. Not Love more or less, just love different. It was emotional to leave, but as we were on the plane, we caught these cool photos from the flight from San Diego CA, to Nashville TN

Leaving Beautiful San Diego

On the ground, safe and sound, in Nashville.

But no matter where we go, this will always make it home...

Wherever Team Oakley goes, we will always be together, sharing our adventures with one another, and enjoying the process of all the craziness that is our lives.

Thanks for sharing them with us as well.

And until out next adventure, wherever it may be...

We are,
Team Oakley!

San Diego Vaca - day 12: Disneyland and the special engagement!

So Team Oakley has gotten to do so many fun things on our vacation, and we are ending it with the happiest place on earth...DISNEYLAND!

Although we love disneyland, and try to go every chance we get, this time was a little different. We were there for the purpose of witnessing Cassidy, a long time friend of ours, pop the question to his girlfriend of a year, and Michael's little sister, Rosanna. We both knew this was going to be happening well in advance, and we understood that that was the reasoning behind getting all of Rosanna's and Cassidy's families and friends to Disneyland on the same day. We were all in on it :)

As a plus to all of the secrecy and love in the air, it was my little brother, JJ's birthday, and my little sister's birthday was the next day. So both of them, plus my other little sister, Rosy, and JJ's girlfriend, who is a good friend of mine, Rebecca all got to join us at this magical place.

So, here was the plan...

Everyone was to meet in the morning at disneyland, ride a few rides together, (try not to explode with excitement, at least that was the rule they gave me!) then we would have lunch, split off, and Cassidy would stall Rosanna enough so that we could all get to her favorite place in the park, the staircase in New Orleans Square, where he would come and pop the question!

Now with every great plan, there were some hiccups... When we got to Rosanna's favorite place, there was a parade waiting there to go out and perform. We kindly explained to them what memories were going to take place there soon, and they told us they will be gone for 15 mins for the parade, so the man with the plan better get here and get down to business by then! So we all started calling and texting Cassidy to let him know that he needs to hurry, but he cannot just call us back while trying to be discrete with Rosanna on his arm. We were all huddled under this little archway, having some lookouts so that we could see them if they were coming, but so that Rosanna could not see us.

We were all squirming with excitement and anticipation! We were hoping that Cassidy could get here before the parade came back! But before we know it, here comes the parade! We were worried that they were going to stay in that little area near the stairs, but they kindly retreated, leaving the space open for the magic.

Just when Michael and I thought that we had enough time to look at something away from the meeting spot, we saw that Cassidy and Rosanna were coming!!! We ran back and gave warning, and we all waited impatiently!!!

Cassidy got a cute little girl to take their photo on the stairs, then he whispered in Rosanna's ear, got down on one knee, and asked her to be his wife. She said yes, started crying, and we all came out to congratulate the newly engaged couple! And as if they knew, some disneyland staff came over with "Just Engaged" buttons for the happy couple. It was such a beautiful moment, and we were so glad we could be a part of the moment that they will both always remember!

The whole crew who was in on it!

After that unforgettable moment, the happy couple went on their own to digest what just went on, and the rest of us went on our way, and enjoyed the rest of Disneyland!!!

Roxanne and Becca are excited!

So is Beka and Rosy...and I think JJ is....I think...
Michael's long time friend Max was able to join us! It made for such a fun trip!

Here is the crew!

Three Beautiful sisters in front of Cinderella's castle.

Roxy and Rosy. Two princesses in front of their castle!

Beka has called Rosy "toady" for years, so whenever they go to disneyland together, they make sure to get a photo of her in Mr. Toad's car before riding his wild ride!

Then we all ended the night at It's a small world, where Roxanne turned 18 on the ride at midnight!

It was a special day in the land of Magic, and nothing could have made it better than knowing that two people who are so in Love made a commitment to get married while we were here. Cassidy and Rosanna, we are so excited for you two, and cannot wait to see what God has in store for the both of you in your new lives!

What an adventure!

Thanks for coming along with us!

Love,

Team Oakley
