5-4-13 May the 4th be with you

Happy 4rth of may! Or as my geek inclined friends say "may the 4th be with you!"

Team Oakley has some friends in town, so we are off to show them some of our favorite places.

Emery insisted he drove. Good thing too, because we were both so tired.

We went to Opry Mills mall first. If you have never been, it is a must see! First off the mall is HUGE, then you an cross the parking lot to the resort and see an indoor jungle. If you are in town, you should go sometime.

In the mall Emery wanted to ride the carousel. So we paid, got our ticket, then Emery FREAKED out, so Michael ending up going at it alone, with his parents.

Once the tears and terror had subsided, we continued on our mall adventure

We went to the lego store, which was REALLY fun for Michael and Emery.

Then Emery's Nana and zi zi zonnie bought him a rain coat and matching boots. It just so happens that it was raining outside, so he got to try them out.

He loves splashing in puddles!!!

Our son is the cutest! No contest, sorry everyone :P

Then we went into Bass pro shops. Man is that place HUGE! There was so much for Emery to see and do! It was like wonderland!

It was a very fun day indeed! Riding home Emery was very content, sleepy, and snuggle with his furry friends. Too cute.

Ah, we love these days. Hanging out, seeing friends and family, and spending time together.

Thanks for coming along with us!

May the 4th be with you.

Love,
Team Oakley

5-5-13 Cinco de mayo!

Hola amigos! OK we are not claiming that is correct, but hello friends anyways! We are celebrating cinco de mayo today, and wanted to share it with you!

No matter what the celebration, Team Oakley is always up for some cereal! Beka was trying to eat some before church, and Emery decided to help her finish.

After church, on our way home to prepare our cinco de feast, Emery was making us crack up! He was giving us so so many faces! What a little ham we have.

After a nap and some cooking, we were all ready to pig out on some yummy tacos!

Beka did this whole spread vegan too! We had friends, family and out of town guests here to celebrate with is. Twas a good night indeed!

We ate...and ate....and ate some more! It was delish! It was not a big event, but we celebrated non the less! Happy day to you all!

Love and tacos,

Team Oakley

4-20-13 Earth day!

Hello hippie friends! Team Oakley loves us some hippies! In fact Beka has been called a hippie more than a few times in her life, and she loves it! It is a compliment to her.

And on days like today when Team Oakley can let their tree huggin, peace makin, hippie lovin flag fly, we take every advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen...it's earth day!

Beka packed some sandwiches for lunch. PB&j for Michael, tomato and pickle for Beka, and Jelly for Emery.

And of course you need some loose beanies and some tie dye. We are so ready!

When we got there we realized how big Emery is getting! We see him everyday, so we really don't notice, but for some reason today we did. He is so big! and Handsome too.

There is a beautiful pond where the fair is. We LOVED seeing the ducks.

Once we got to the fair Emery just took off like he knew where he was going. It was towards the music, as always.

While we were walking around, seeing the sights, Emery saw such a sight indeed! It was Nana and Nunu!

They brought him a fun toy too! It is a snake magnifying glass. He LOVED looking at grass and bugs though it. He also loved looking at a book a vendor got him about recycling!

We spent the day seeing cool booths, meeting people, and showing Emery off.

Emery gave a high five to the police men. It was so sweet, and made their day!

Then we had a picnic on the grass. Yum!

After our picnic Emery needed to get some dancing in!

He even found a friend to dance with! Well, she found him. He was a great sport, but the look on his face showed more terror and awkwardness than fun. But it was a good learning experience for sure.

He LOVED dancing with Nana and Nunu too!

It was so sweet to see Emery dancing with other kids. So groovy. Like it was meant to be this way.

There was a first for Emery today too! He went pee in a porta potty! I know that's lame to post, but it was a first none the less, and we celebrated it!

And I think the COOLEST thing Emery got to do was pet a snake! Oh how brave he is!

On the car ride home we turned the music up, and rolled the windows down. We felt the wind on our faces and were so thankful for the earth that we live on and exist in.

Peace, love, and hippies to you all! Take care of our earth. She deserves it.

Love,

Team Oakley
