San Diego Vaca - day 1: Robin's Bachelorette Party!

Michael and I recently were able to go down to our native home land of San Diego for vacation and to see my older Brother Zachary marry his long time sweetheart, Robin. We loved the whole trip, and it seems like we had something fun to do everyday that we were there!

We arrived on a thursday night, and spend time with family at Beka's older sister, Rochelle's house where we stayed while we were out there. We talked and talked in her and her boyfriend Timmy's beautiful newly renovated kitchen while her two little sisters, Roxanne and Roselynn, ventured over and chatted with us. The night was short as we were both very tired with the two hour (three for Beka, coming straight from Knoxville) time difference, and we all went to bed with fun family love and conversation in our hearts. We knew it was going to be a fantastic vacation...

The next day, Friday, was the ever so anticipated bachelorette party for Robin. Being that she lives in SD, Beka was not able to come out for the bridal shower (Ding fares are good, but not that good!), so she was extra super excited to spend time with her on her special and crazy night! Rochelle, her Momma Gail, her good friend rebecca, and many of Robin's friends, her sister, her Aunt, mother, bridesmaids, and even her grandmother went! It made for a super diverse and wonderfully amusing night of lady fun!

Robin was beautiful as always in this playful print dress and her bachelorette sash. It's a bummer you cannot see her shoes, because they were also zebra print, and super cute! We all had dinner and saw the show at Lips....and if you are a native in SD, it explains itself. If you are not, and you are one of my southern friends, lets just say it is an experience all it's own! There was good food, fun dancing, and more laughing and inside jokes than is healthy for one individual to go though! Over all it was a wonderful, and unforgettable night celebrating the beautiful Robin, and the last of her bachelorette days!

While the ladies were all out galavanting as they were, the fellas met and stayed at Robin's parents house, and played an all night game of poker. It was a 20$ buy in, and half the pot was split between the top three players, and the other half was a surprise gift to the bride and groom. Michael, not ever having brothers, really enjoyed the time spent with Zach, his brother in law, and getting to experience that for the first time. It was a special time for them both. While they were there, Zach asked Michael to join Robin's bother, Grant, and be an usher at the wedding, a job he proudly and eagerly excepted. They, along with uncles, brothers, friends, groomsmen, and many other manly men from both sides of the families battled it out in the epic poker match. Michael, as we are proud to announce, came in third of everyone who played! He impressed the lot of men with his cunning ways, massive beard, and ability to take their money. All traits Beka enjoys...especially the taking of the money :)

It was a great first night in our hometown, and as usual in SD, it was filled with memories, and family. We couldn't have asked for a warmer or more fun way to be welcomed back, and were so excited for the wedding and the rest of our vacation!

Thanks for sharing this adventure with us!

Love,

Team Oakley
