The Factory's Farmers Market

One thing Team Oakley LOVES about the south is all the fresh produce, farms, and gardens that people have. About a week ago we went to the Farmer's market in Franklin, TN. It is held in the parking lot of an old Factory, which has been converted into a mall. During the summer local growers and farmers come and sell their goodies.
It was such a wonderfully sunny and warm day! It made for a beautiful setting to see all the sights and sounds of this cool experience.

There were farmers with flowers, produce, home goods, meats, and more!

Canning and Jarring is a huge tradition out here!

It was very fun to walk up and down the booths and see the produce, and watch the southern people! There were smells of fresh basil and tomatoes mixed with the Local Bar-be-que stand.

There was a bluegrass band performing too, and when they went into Rocky Top, it made everything come together!

Here are some all natural handmade soaps for sale. They smelled wonderful!

Some of the Farms specialized in certain products, and therefor had many types of one thing to offer.
Here is Michael, Beka, and Pappy (Michael's Dad) in the midst of the fun!
The Hatcher Farm is pretty widely known around here, and this signed cracked us up! They were needing more cows, but they were selling cuts of beef! I guess we know where the cows went to!

Mmmmm, you can't beat some fresh Basil!
Welcome to TN Y'all!!!

We very much enjoyed our time there with Michael's parents, and we will be going back many times in the future!

We encourage everyone to find and buy locally grown produce, meats, and dairy. It is better for you, the economy, Farmers rights, and the environment.
Plus you get to have adventures like ours!

Thanks for sharing it with us!!

Team Oakley
