Atlanta Anniversary trip - day 1!

Atlanta Anniversary trip – day 1!

Well Team Oakley has made it to three years!!! That is right, two moves, three states, and many adventures later, we have been married for three years! And to celebrate this great achievement (we really do think of it like that! It has been REALLY tough and we have gone through many difficult times, and we celebrate getting to where we are every chance we get!) we decided to cash in some of Beka’s travel rewards that she accrues when she works for hotel nights in Atlanta!

We took off in the AM on Wednesday morning on our anniversary,  November 3rd.  About two miles from home,  we got a flat. Well, we thought it was a flat, and it felt like a flat. We went back towards home, and saw it was just low. We filled up all four of them, and we were back on our way!

We went through Chattanooga, and got some lunch. With Beka being a vegetarian, fast food options are few. We came across an Arby’s and there is a sandwich that Beka gets with no chicken there that she can get.

We got our food, hopped back in the car, and went the rest of the way to Atlanta.

The drive there was beautiful! It was rainy most of the way, but stunning sights none-the-less.

Once we were in Atlanta, we checked into our first hotel, and relaxed for a bit.

After a while we went to a place we have been wanting to visit for a while, as it is not in Nashville….IKEA!!!!

We spared no time in visiting there. In beautiful, historic Atlanta, we go to Ikea first. Beka went to the bathroom once they were inside, and came out to Michael, grinning ear to ear, with a hot dog in each hand. With a guilty mouth full he mumbles “they were two for a dollar!!!”

We spent hours and hours planning our dream home, imagining ourselves in a posh new york flat, and making our shopping list of everything we would ever want, and could never afford.

 Michael is a goof ball!

we decided that this was our dream set up. We love an open floor plan.

Michael finally convinced Beka to eat at the store’s restaurant after showing that they had a vegetarian plate. It was very inexpensive,  and Michael was in heaven (Beka loves her husband).

All the fun and dream decorating had them both very tired, so Team Oakley found their way back to their hotel, and hit the hey.

Day one in Atlanta was amazing,  and the excitement of the next two days could be felt in the air!

Thanks for sharing!

Team Oakley.
