Getting ready for Mr. Emery

Team Oakley is growing!

We are having so much fun decorating Mr. Emery's room in anticipation for his grand arrival! We have picked Dr. Seuss as a theme for the nursery. We both have always been inspired by the lessons in his works, and the colors and imagination are perfect for what we have in mind for Emery as he is growing and learning.

We are renting the place that we are in now, so we could not do anything to his room that would be too permanent, such as paint, so we had some loved ones do some art, and we were giving may themed out items to create a dream room. Piece by piece we are working on the room that will be his first memories of his home. It will always be a work in progress, but we wanted to share what we had so far.

We only have three bedrooms (our room, Emery's room, and a joint office), so we put a guest bedroom in the baby room so that when Family comes to visit him, they can stay in there.

We Just cannot wait to snuggle our little guy in these colorful robes!!!

Here is a piece of art from his Aunt Rosanna to inspire him! Also the 'E' on the lamp is from a cake made by a friend of Beka's.

The chair was a GREAT find by Michael at Goodwill. It was in great condition and the only one we could find anywhere.

Here is Michael and Silver taking in the love that is the baby's room.

Emery's closet is full of diapers, wipes, clothes, lots of love, and scrappy.

Here is an art piece that Michael made for Emery, the elephant (Beka hopes Emery does not take this literally and is not as big as an elephant at birth).

This was also done by Michael. That is Emery at the end of the heart.

At one of the Showers that was thrown for Beka and Emery, Beka's step sister made an adorable diaper cake with bright ribbon and Emery's name. Beka put them in a frame to remember the cute gift.

This name piece was made by Emery's friend Amy at one of his Showers.

Here are two more art pieces made by the ever so talented Auntie Rosanna!

Emery's Auntie Robin made this name ribbon that will hang over his crib.

And what would a Seuess themed room be without the great works of the doctor himself!

This is a sock monkey that his Great auntie Beth made and shipped to him.

We cannot wait to meet and snuggle Mr. Emery! He is only weeks away and we love him so so much already! We hoped you enjoyed seeing his room, and we will leave you with how we feel about his upcoming arrival, in the words of Dr. Suess:

Thanks for sharing this joy with us!
