Fun day with Roxanne! Jan 2012

If Beka were to make a list of the people that she loves most in the world it would go Micahel and Emery tied for first, then her family, all of them, tied for second. She and her siblings are very close, and it is hard to be so far away from them. They all live in San Diego CA, and she, Michael, and Emery live in Nashville TN. So when one of her oh-most-favorite people come into town, it is like happy-party-of-love-and-joy-and all-things-good!

Her sister Roxanne is in town! It is so amazing to have her for two weeks. She is here to look into transferring to MTSU. Two weeks is a solid amount of time, but it really goes by fast! Beka and Roxanne made sure to make the most of the time. There were many deep sister talks, much tea, multitude of walks, and one oh so special day of window shopping and sight seeing!

We headed down to downtown Franklin, which is one of Beka’s favorite places in middle TN. On the way we stopped at Rooster Tails, which is an antique store that Beka loves! It is full of things Beka would put in her house in an instant. She snapped some photos of things that her and Roxanne loved.

Because Michael could not go into town with them, he presented them with a challenge for the day. Before they left he said "find something today that you think I would think is fun". This was the winner for sure. It was not for sale, but for decoration the owners had put up records on the roof. It was awesome, and Beka and Roxanne agreed that Michael would go crazy for it.

After we got our fill of sweet TN antiques we headed to down town Franklin. Beka snapped Emery into the front pack, and we were ready to go!

yay for sister time!

We did the same thing in downtown Franklin that we did in Rooster tails; we took photos of the things we liked best. We walked up and down the streets and went into store after store after store drinking our coffee and chatting away all the time we had spent apart. Ahhhh such a great feeling.

After hours of sister fun, we went home, tired and happy. It was a full day for the eyes and the hearts.

At home Roxanne made dinner for Beka, Michael, and herself. Homemade cheddar broccoli soup in a bread bowl! Oh it was so good!

The rest of the night was full of food coma fun. Michael played some video games, and Beka and Roxanne continued to share the last few moments of her visit with conversation and some hot tea. Beka could not dream up a more perfect sister day, and it was a great way to end Roxanne's trip out here.

Family is where it's at my friends. Hold close to them. And if they are not close, make the distance shorter with Skype, letters, or even good ole Facebook. Don't let those important relationships slip away. They are too special!

Thanks for reading,

Team Oakley
