ATL day two - more shopping and hotel fun 8/23/12

So we know there is already a posting about some shopping we have done in Atlanta, but we are at it again! We have a few more $ on Beka's Ikea gift card, and we want to hit one of our favorite clothes stores (H&M) before we go.

Onward shopping soldiers!

First stop is to spend the rest of the GC at Ikea. When we got there we had some food, and let Emery play in the play area agin. He stood up while playing and Michael noticed the back of his pants were soaked through. We thought, "oh, Emery must have sat in some water". So we went over, picked him up, and realized he had just peed out his diaper. Epically. We rushed to the family changing room and put him into his emergency onesie. We always keep one in his diaper bag, and this one was from his Auntie Roxanne. It was an MTSU onesie. Emery was representing the blue raiders! He also was enjoying the cool Ikea lounge chair that was in the family restroom.

We wanted to be diligent of not spending more than our gift card allowed (again, we are on a budget!) so Beka went off on her own to get some things and add up the costs. While she was doing that, Michael took Emery to the kids section of the store, and they had a grand ole time!

We ended up buying some things that Emery played with, just because he was having so much fun!

After Beka had gotten some things, and Emery's fun toys were in the cart, we leisurely made our way to the check out. Emery sized this moment to give his Daddy some love for playing with him in the kid's area.

He usually just gives him kisses on the lips, but Michael's face is especially fuzzy right now. So fuzzy, in fact, that Emery giggles when he kisses Michael on the lips. So this is what he does now...he improvises.

After the love was had, we checked out all the goodies we had gathered. The total, over the two days shopping here....101$ Yes we spent 1$ out of pocket, but we were pretty proud of ourselves. In total we walked away with :
An awesome play tent for Emery, a pop up decoration for over his bed, three small stuffed toys, one shape roller coaster, a hammer game, two Euro pillow shames, two accent pillows, four couch pillows, two dish towels, a mini ironing board, a ice pop maker, two cute folders and some stickers! We heart Ikea!

After all of that, we went to H & M. Michael was sweet and shopped with Emery while Beka could roam around by her leisure. They each had 50$ to spend, and we had a great time looking around for fun things! In the end Michael got a cardigan, and a fedora, and Beka got some navy blue jeans, two sets of earrings, a pair of shorts, and a dress for her goddaughter. At check out we figured that the total would be about 105$. Then, at the check out, the cashier let us know that they were having a promotion with the new David Beckham line. If you got anything from that line, they will take 20% off of your purchase. So Michael thought about it, stepped out of line, and came back with some sleep shorts for 15$. This was, in Beka's opinion, way too much to spend on sleep shorts. "Just wait" Michael said. Watching him pay for our purchases, it all came to Beka. We were already spending about 100$. 20 % off of that takes it down to 80$. Add that 15$ for the shorts, we are only up to 95$. We not only got the shorts for FREE, but we saved a few bucks off our total, and ended up below the 100$ that we wanted to spend. SCORE AGAIN!

After H&M, we walked around the cute shopping area the store is located in. There was some big band music playing, it was sunny and warm, and we were all in very happy moods. It was such a great way to end our day.

After that, we went to our hotel. Again, this one was off of points. We hit a home run with the one we staying in last night, so we were hoping for another great room, but in reality we were expecting a crappy hotel with sub par rooms, and a sleepless night. We could not have two good hotels in a row that we got off of points without ever seeing the hotel.

But, you see, that is just what happened! Against all laws of hotel karma, we had another great hotel! It was cool, stylish, clean, and wonderful! SCORE AGAIN!

When we got to the hotel, Emery had some energy to burn. He kept crawling up and down the halls. He would stop and say hi to his favorite toy...the AC system.

Once in our room, we had dinner, relaxed, and gave Emery his bottle.

After his bottle he explored the whole room, and burned off the rest of his stored up energy.

Once he was all tuckered out, we set up a tent similar to the first room, and he fell right asleep! Beka and Michael took this free time and watched some stand up comedy on Netflix until we both fell asleep. It was a wonderful, and very full day, and we were happily exhausted. Tomorrow is our last day on our Atlanta adventure, and we have one more fun thing to do.

Stay Tuned!

Love

Team Oakley
