Jack Daniels with Mimi and Poppa

Jack Daniel’s distillery day with Mimi and Poppa

When Beka’s Dad and Momma Gail were in town, Team Oakley decided to spend a day away and show them some good ole southern fun! So we strapped the baby in and headed south to Fayetteville TN.

Poppa and Mimi did not know where we were going, but they sure liked getting there. Everyone in TN would agree that the views are spectacular, and being that this was their first trip out to the volunteer state, they were beside themselves with the beauty of TN.

When we got to Fayetteville we went to Cahoots, which is a restaurant in an old jail. You literally eat lunch in a cell!

After lunch we went to Sir’s Fabrics, which is Beka’s go to when she needs special materal for a project. The prices are great, and she always leaves fueled with inspiration and drive to create her goods.

From there we took them over to Lynchburg TN to tour the Jack Daniel’s Distillery.  IT is a tour that team Oakley had wanted to take since they had moved out to TN, but never got the change. We found out it was worth the wait.

The whole facility was clean and well oraganized when it came to parking and traffic. Everything was well manicured and taken care of. It was very beautiful.

The tour was free, and before we went in we had time to check out the meausem and read up on the history of the company.

Michael had put Emery in a new carrier for the first time, and he spent half the tour chewing on the side of the carrier, and the other half asleep in it. He was super cute the whole time though.

When we were grouped with our tour, we took a bus to the other side of the facility, and then we would walk with our tour guide back to the main gate.

All the while he would explain the process of how they make the whiskey, and the history of the company.

This was our tour guide. He as great! And he was related to Jack Daniels!

THe whole place was SOOO beautiful!

Mr Jack himself. He was a small man.

They use fresh spring water from a cave on site to distill.

After the tour, they had fresh lemonade waiting for us, and we got to tour the lodge.

IT was in November, so near the parking lot they had their Christmas tree.

We had some much fun, and for those of you who are local to TN, we highly recommend this tour!

Thanks for sharing on our adventure!

Love,
Team Oakley
