5-11 & 5-12 2013 - Mother's day!

Mother's day is here, and we are ready to celebrate!

But before we begin, we would like to say a few words:
You do NOT have to have a child of your own to be a mother figure in someone's life. Beka, Michael, and Emery have been loved by many a fine woman who have been mother figures in their lives. They have loved deep, cared, supported, nurtured, and were strongholds in our lives. Some of them had kids of their own, and some did not. We also had their own fabulous mothers, and step mothers, and grandmothers, and aunties, and sisters, and the list goes on. We are very lucky, and we know it!

You do NOT have to be a mom to be celebrated on mothers day, so don't forget to celebrate ALL the women in your life that have brought you up good ways. Even if it is a phone call, say thanks for being 'mom'.

Michael and Emery said "thanks or being Mom' to Beka on the saturday before mother's day. This has become a tradition so that we can be with and celebrate our own mothers on the actual day.

Beka got surprised with a day at Hotsy Potsy, the paint your own ceramic shop! Once we were there we  decided to paint a mug all together. Beka painted one side, Michael painted one, and then they helped Emery paint the third!

Then we spent a relaxing day all together, just what Beka wanted. It was very sweet.

The next day we met Michael's parents at their house. Emery was over there already, and he met Beka with such a sweet surprise!

There was not a sweeter sight in all the world in that moment. It was perfection! Best mother's day smile EVER!

Then we packed into one car and started south. Beka works in Mississippi each month, and on her way she passes a wonderful little spot. It is on the Natchez Trace nature preserve, and it is breathtaking. She knew that we all could use some fresh air and sunshine, so she packed everyone a healthy picnic lunch and we all made our way down to the beautiful scene. It did not disappoint!

And neither did the food! Michael's parents recently became vegetarians, so Beka packed an all vegan lunch. It was full of fruits and veggies, and everyone pigged out! SO GOOD!

Michael's sister, Rosanna, met us and we all spent the day relaxing, munching, and taking in the wonderful place we were in. It was so therapeutic to be in such beautiful nature. We each had a camping chair, and we made full use of them.

While Emery's Nunu was relaxing, Emery did a sneak hug attack! Nunu did not mind at all.

Then we spent some time exploring this beautiful creation we were a part of.

Emery LOVED the water, even though it was pretty cold, and there were rocks at the bottom. He especially loved throwing the rocks into the water!

Beka loved the water too. Outside is her happy place, so needless to say she was on cloud nine out here!

We all had fun hiking and being adventurous!

Emery and Michael got REALLY daring jumping from rock to rock! Josie captured this wonderful action shot!

After that we all exchanged gifts. It was wonderful to celebrate one another.

It was the best mother's day yet! Full of beauty, creation, love and family. What more could a mom ask for?

Blessings and love to all you mom and motherly figures out there. It is tough work, and sometimes it is thankless. So make sure you take this day to thank and love.

Love,

Team Oakley
