5-18-13 Nana and Nunu Garden Day

Summer's in the south are our favorites. You can do so many fun things, and, if you can stand the heat, playing outside is nonstop! But something Team Oakley has REALLY grown to love is gardening!

Well Michael's parents, Emery's Nana and Nunu, got the gardening bug this year too! They set out to build some planter boxes in their big, beautiful back yard, and Emery got to help!

We drove him over there, and noticed his knees. He was such an adventerous boy

Emery was VERY happy to go hang out with Nana and Nunu!

He had a bit of a spill in the car, so we changed his shirt, then he was ready to hit the dirt!

He brought his own shovel and pail for the job. He is prepared.

Once he got there, the work started! First they had to build the frame. Emery was REALLY good at handing Nunu things, and dropping the screws. Nunu is very smart when it comes to building, so we are so proud that Emery can learn from him!

Then they prepared the ground.

Throughout the day Emery took lots of breaks. He ate lots of frozen treats too. He was REALLY good at taking breaks.

After the breaks, They filled in the planter!!! That is when we came in. We were able to help a bit, and watch the cool process.

When Michael was not helping, he and Beka were REALLY good at encouraging!

Emery saw his nunu mark the wood before he cut it, so he marked on it too.

At the end of the day, we worked until the sun went down. It was such a wonderful experience.

Thank you, Nana and Nunu, for letting us share in your garden joy! I am sure Emery learned so much, and we loved seeing it!

Love and peace and dirt to you,

Team Oakley
