Earth Day Festival 4-21-12

Team Oakley live by a large set of rules that we adhere to. Some are as simple as "Be nice", and some are as complex as, "forgive, even when it hurts".

But a there is one simple rule that is on our list: "be green".

We love our earth, and feel like it was given to us to protect, nourish, and grow, not to pollute, trash, and drain dry.

So to celebrate this Earth that we love, we are going to the Earth Day festival in Centennial Park!

We were all VERY excited to be there! Emery and Michael had some fun before getting out of the car.

Emery always thinks it's funny to grab his Dad's glasses right off his face. Frankly, it is :)

Here are the Oakley Men! They are ready to party on Earth Day!

Emery was wearing his Lizard outfit to support being green and loving God's creatures!

He was not sure what to do with his hood.

We went to Starbucks before we entered the festival, and Emery was fascinated by touching the leaves as we strolled by.

Emery also wanted some good drinks, so he had his bottle.

It was a beautiful day, but kinda chilly. Despite the bite, the park was green with spring!

Emery and Beka waited on a picnic table near by while Michael ran to the car to get the front pack. Emery loved being able to sit up on his own and watch the people and the leaves on the trees.

Once we were in the festival, we saw some REALLY cool drummer playing on one of the stages.

There were many colorful people there that day. We even say a self-proclaimed "Earth Man"!

We hit all the booths to learn all we could about being green, making smart choices, gardening basics, and improving our back yard compost pile!

There were also LOTS of cool food vendors there selling fresh, organic goods.

After we were all filled with info and green initiatives, and our feet were sore from walking, we headed home. It was a great, green day, and we LOVED the time that we shared outside in the wonderful nature that we have here in Nashville.

Cheers to being green!

Love,
Team Oakley
