4th of July, 2012

Happy independence day!

The 4th of July is one of our most favorite holidays! We love to celebrate the red, white, and blue, and shoot off some fireworks!

But this year, we got some sad news...NO FIREWORKS! There has been an intense heat wave here in the lovely south as of late, and because of the drought there is a 'no burn' mandate in our county. This includes fireworks. Boo.

Emery was not thrilled with this news.

But the celebration goes on anyways! Team Oakley got all dressed up for the fun day!

Emery is enthralled with his Dad's facial hair.

Emery, for sure, was the cutest out of the three of us.

He was a-wavin his flag with lots of pride!

Ok...really!?! can this boy be any cuter?

We were very excited to celebrate with Beka's sister, Roxanne, who has just recently moved in with Team Oakley while she studies at MTSU.  She was very sad to not shoot off fire works as well, but you cannot see that here.

We had fun, even though we had to come up with something different to do other than lighting things on fire....so we all ate.... a TON!

Beka made some vegan potato and green bean salad, pasta salad, and regular salad....can you tell that she loves salad?

Even Emery took part in the stuffing of the faces. He loved his corn on the cob!

We all ate, laughed, hung out on the porch, and enjoyed the hot summer night that it was.

We hope that you all had a great time celebrating.
Thanks for sharing this day with us!

Love,

Team Oakley
