Happy Father's day!
Last year, when Mr Emery was in the belly, Beka celebrated Michael as best she could on his "first" Father's day. It was fun to revel in all that was to come for Michael in the world of Fatherdom.
But now that Emery is here...Oh how much sweeter Father's day is!!!
Literally, it was sweet as Frozen Yogurt with candy and gummy bears on top (There is a local yogurt company that gives free yogurt and toppings to all dad's on Father's day. Last year Beka had to go behind michael, point to her hugely pregnant belly, and say 'I swear it's his'.... They believed us :) And this year Michael was BEAMING with pride holding Emery in line, proving his paternal status among the yogurt goers).
This Father's day we celebrated Michael with some deliberate laziness. Let me explain: Beka thought and thought about these great adventures, hikes, and events to take part in on Father's day, but then she realized that the thing Michael wanted most was just time to relax. So she cleared the day for him to eat cheese itz, play video games, wrestle Emery, and take a nap. It was blissful.
Emery and Beka also gave him his Father's day gift...Emery picked it out in the store, and he added his mark for Dad. Michael loved it, and Emery loved giving it to him.
Twas a happy happy day all around. We hope that you all had fun celebrating those who have earned the title of Dad in your life. We know some great ones, and we are blessed with awesome men to look up to, and set an example for Emery.
