12-25-12 Christmas Day!

Remember those days when you would wake up as EARLY as you could on Christmas day? Michael Oakley does. He has not stopped that tradition in becoming an adult. When Emery woke Beka up at around 8am on Christmas morning (by standing on this turtle and turning off and on the light) Michael was no where to be found. He had snuck out of their room early to look at all the presents and bask in the joy of Christmas morning. Beka likes to bask too, but she likes to bask in bed, asleep :)

Once Emery was up, though, it was all over for anyone else who wanted to sleep. He was the defining moment of "CHRISTMAS IS HERE!" He was dancing, laughing, and very ready to dig into all that pretty paper he has been seeing for so long.

We all got some morning nourishment,

 and got to the fun...PRESENTS!

We took turns being delighted by gifts, and joyfully giving out the ones we had brought for others. It was a very fun and very full time of sharing love.

Emery had more than his fair share of gifts too! He was not even sure how to contain his joy!

One of the coolest gifts Emery got was a homemade cajon from his Pappy! Michael's Dad makes these percussion instruments and sells them. He made this one Emery sized and called it the Allister model (Emery's middle name). Emery was so giddy to play cajon like his Pappy and his Daddy!

Emery was showered with love this day, and he made sure he gave lots of love out too!

After all the presents were opened, and naps where had, Beka and Michael went out and saw a movie with Roxanne, Rosanna, and Cassidy. We saw the new cirque de soliel movie in 3D. It was so good!

When we arrived home to pick up Emery from Michael's parent's house, we found him VERY happy, but VERY tired (as he always is after staying with them). So Beka and Michael opted to stay one more night there, so Emery could go to bed as soon as possible. They made the most of their time away by sleeping in the living room, on an air mattress, and playing Mario Kart for hours. It was the best way to end a great Christmas day.

Food, fun, gifts, family, tea, fires in the fireplace, and music all around. These are things that make up a great Christmas for us, and they were abundant in this day. We hope that whatever fills your heart with joy on Christmas was there in excess for you as well.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight.

Love and peace,
Team Oakley
