10/12/12 Emery's one year shots and treat

Tis an unfortunate day in the Oakley home. Emery had to get his one year old shots today. There were quite a few of them, and he had to get his toe poked for blood. He cried during them, but right after he was all better! What a trooper! He held his head high walking out of our doctors office. His doctor was very pleased with how Emery is growing, socializing, and talking.

In the car he was very happy and snuggly with his dinosaur pillow that Mom made him.

A few minuets later, though, the pain came back :( It was mostly his toe that hurt, so we took his shoe off. He was not happy that there was a bandaid on his toe.

We knew this little boy needed a treat. He had a hurt toe, and he was being really tough. So we headed to the grocery store. Emery does not eat many candies or cakes, so we weren't going to get him a food treat. He has so many toys at home, so that was not an option. Then we saw it... the perfect treat.

A BALLOON!

Emery was unsure if it was for him, but once he caught on he was stoked at the idea. He loved it.

This is him giving the balloon loveies.

His treat definately made him forget about his owies. Succcess!

And to celebrate his bravery even more we went to breakfast all together. Emery had to bring in his balloon.

Even though shots are never fun, a good treat always makes it better. What treats do you get for your little sick or hurt ones?

We hope you all are well!

Love,
Team Oakley
