9/13/12 Opry Mills with Poppa and Mimi!

Poppa and Mimi are here! Beka's dad and stepmamma flew into town for a few days to celebrate Poppa's, Beka's, and Emery's birthday!

Last time they were here they wanted to visit Opry Mills, but it was still closed from the huge Nashville flood. But now that they have opened it, it was a must see.

So we headed up to Nashville and walked around the wonder that is that mall. Poppa and Mimi had a great time pushing Emery in this stroller and carrying him. It was fun for Beka and Michael to see Poppa and Mimi interact with Emery. They just love him so very much!

After we had made a huge circle in the mall and saw and shopped at many different stores, we came across the mall play place. Opry Mills does a GREAT job of keeping it clean. The theme is music and lots of the instruments actually play music when they are touched. As you can see from the photos a'plenty below, we all had a pretty fun time being silly in the kids area with Emery.

Emery saw a sweet girl playing and was very curious. We never really worry about kids hurting Emery, we only worry about Emery smothering kid strangers with his hugs and loveies. He is just so darn friendly it can scare the little ones.

Emery LOVED playing peek-a-boo-now-chase-me with anyone that would play along.

Emery was not sure how to turn around in the tunnel, so he would just crawl backwards :)

We all got in on the fun after awhile. Wait, who are those crazy adults playing in the kids area?...oh yeah, that is my family :).

Emery is always giving loveies.

Emery needed a break, so he laid down for about 30 seconds...ok, back to playing!

More Emery loveies!

Emery REALLY liked it when Poppa would play with him. He as so mesmerized by his every move!

....and more loveies. This time for the guitar.

Emery says 'YAY'!

WHEW! That was a great play session! All of us were pooped after that one! We had seen and done enough for today, so we made our way out of the mall, stopping to admire the lego store before we go. It is one of Michael's faves.

Emery sure does love his Poppa! And Poppa is loving his Emery time as well.

It was a very happy day for Team Oakley. If your parents live near you, be grateful. They are a treasure (I am sure it doesn't always feel like that). And if they do not live near, then treasure the times that you do get to see them. We do :)

We have more birthday fun coming up soon, so stay tuned!

Love
Team Oakley
