If you have been following our blog then you know that Team Oakley LOVES us some festivals! We try and make it to as many as we can.
This year the southern fried food festival was during the same time that Michael was doing his Miller's Thrillers Halloween stuff, so he could not go with Beka and Emery.
Michael made it up to them by being really silly earlier in the day. Because nothing says "I wish I could go with you tonight" quite like playing with a mustache.
So Beka and Emery headed over to pick up Beka's sister, Roxanne, who was going to join them at the festival. While waiting for his auntie roxanne, Emery found some awesome flowers to smell!
Once we were all ready to go (emery in his Beardsley shirt), we piled in the car and headed south to Columbia TN.
Beka and Emery were so glad to have auntie Roxanne there with them. Emery sure does love his Auntie!
The first thing that caught Emery's eye right off the bat was the animals! He sure does love them!
After the animals we headed closer to the fair to see what else we could do. Emery insisted on walking by himself. After all, he is a one year old now.
Emery finds joys in all kinds of places! He thought this sign was so fun!
It was a good peek-a-boo sign.
After that fun sign Emery was really excited to see what else was out there for him. Like that trash can!

And there was a fun chalk menu that Emery came within inches of smearing. Luckily Mom was there to quickly distract him with something else so that the chalk menu would stay in tact.
Emery found something even better than a chalk board, leaves! Two of them! He was so happy he held them high above his head for all to marvel at!
There were so many things for him to do and see and smell and feel!
Emery, as always, was driven towards the music playing. This kid LOVES to dance!
Everyone there was just smitten by Emery and his love for the live band. He made many friends that day.
After the festival, Emery and Beka dropped Roxanne off with a friend and went to visit Michael at Miller's thrillers haunted woods.
Emery was just AMAZED at all the fun lights and sounds!
He met up with his good friend Paxton to play for a bit. They both wore the same shirt, that is how cool they are :)
We had a great time at the festival and the woods playing with friends and seeing Michael work his magic and charm.
When Beka and Emery got home, though, it was nice to be alone and quiet. We both were very tired and took advantage of some much needed snuggle time.
There was no better way to end our full and happy day.
