10/5/12 Zoo with the Palmer boys!

What can we say, we love the ZOO!

We  have some good friends of ours, the Palmer family, who like the zoo as well. Michael and Beka had the great honor of watching two of the three charming Palmer boys for the day. So we are heading to the zoo!

Before the zoo we stopped by our favorite coffee shop to say hi to some buddies and get drinks to go.

Emery loved hanging around the shop and being silly with his friends.

Everywhere the boys went, Emery went too. He wanted to be just like them!

He did so much following that he laid down on the floor, exhausted! He does this often when he needs a rest. I guess it is an equivalent of a power nap.

After our drink stop, we got to the zoo! They boys were great with the map. They knew where we should go!

The first thing everyone sees as the enter the Nashville zoo are the big, blue, parrots. They are like a familiar friend welcoming you into their home.

Then we stopped for lunch. Emery was getting pretty hungry. He stuffed his face with way too many carrots when Beka gave them to him.

After we all ate, we headed towards the play place! The boys were very sweet and helpful with Emery. They loved pushing his stroller.

Emery could not wait to get out of that stroller and play! He and Beka went off to have some fun while the boys got their energy out as well.

Waving hi to Daddy.

And now that Mr. Hippo an Mr. Emery are friends, Emery can go and say hi to him at any time.

And you know we had to do some swinging! It's his favorite and Beka cannot get enough pictures of him being so happy!

The older boys really wanted Emery to play with them, but they were just too big and too fast! They always found him, about every five mins, to make sure he was having plenty of fun though.

Emery thought the boys were pretty cool on that net above him.

The big boys walked into the cave, and so did Emery! It was like follow the leader.

Then it was Michael's turn to play with the Emery bug. He tried walking him across the shaky bridge, but Emery was not into it!

It was too shaky for him. We will leave all that daring stuff to the big boys (for now).

After the playground it was time for the animals!

We went into the reptile house. Emery loves it in there. It is easier for him to see things close up. Plus there is a little step that he can stand on.

The boys were very sweet to explain everything to Emery. They told him what kind of animal it is, where it was, and interesting facts that they knew.

Once we had met all the fun bugs and reptiles, it was time to head home.

The rest of the day was spent just like this: the big boys playing video games, and the little boy loving having the big boys in his house!

It was such a fun day all around. Big boys, little boys, we all had so much fun at the zoo. Emery loves his fiends very much, and Team Oakley was happy to spend time with them.

Thanks for reading about our fun day!

Love,
Team Oakley
