Oh how time flies! Everyone told us this when we were pregnant, but we cannot say how true it is! Emery is almost one year old already! Craziness!
To celebrate his birthday his Poppa, Mimi, Auntie Ro, Uncle Timmy, and Uncle J.J. are flying in to Nashville to visit him! What a great gift!
Beka had been showing Emery photos of his family on the west coast so that he knew them when they arrived. She also kept telling Emery how much fun he was going to have with them, and the anticipation was overflowing in this little one! From the moment he woke up he was excited! It has been 6 months since he saw this side of the family!
Everytime I told him "Poppa and Mimi will be here soon!" he giggled with joy. There is just something about grandparents to make a child burst with love.
Once they arrived and we did some initial hugs and remembering who these people were (it is hard for a little guy to keep it straight), then we headed off to Cracker Barrel to eat with Poppa and Mimi!
Emery wasted no time in making his Grandparents fall in love with him even more.
Auntie Roxanne came to dinner as well. We had a great time sitting in the rocking chairs out front and chatting. And yes, that is Roxanne in a kids chair, and yes, she fits perfectly.
After a YUMMY dinner and some good catch up time we made our way home. It was so nice to have Beka's dad and step mom here. When you live so far away from those you love, seeing them in person, being able to hug and kiss them, it's just a treasure!
You know what else is a treasure? When Poppa and Mimi wake up early and wait for Emery to wake up just so Michael and Beka can sleep in! That is a treasure! Well, in this case it was so Michael and the cats could sleep in :)
It was a great day with family. They are staying for a while and more family will fly in soon, so there will be many more adventures! Stay tuned and thanks for reading!
